Urethra Cup Pessary

If the ligaments holding the uterus and the pelvic floor muscles are too weak to hold the uterus in place, there is a uterine prolapse. Cause of the reduction is a weakening of the pelvic floor, eg by a fast birth order, very heavy children or multiple births. Bladder and bowel movement disorders, such as involuntary loss of urine are often unpleasant side effects.

medesign's Urethra Cup Pessary is a combination of the Cerclage Pessary with a calvaria that is placed directly under the urethra. The thickening at the top of a urethra pessary supports the lowered urethra during increased pressure on the bladder e.g. when coughing and improves its compressing function.Its robust body is superior to the 'sensitive' Urethra Pessary when used in the case of severe descensus.

Further Information

The larger contact area significantly minimises the pressure on the tissue. Nevertheless, it is recommended that the Urethra Cup Pessary is removed at night.
