The soft cotton fibres absorb the liquid and are gentle to the breast.medesign's Nursing Pads, which also contain microfibre, combine cotton's natural properties with those of synthetic fibres. The thin fabric is liquid-tight yet air-permeable to prevent sweating.
The advantage, when compared to standard single-use nursing pads, is that absorbency is restored with every wash cycle (up to 95 °C without fabric softener) and possible germs are killed.
