A rich oil for massage and skin care.
The sweet oil of the almond has been known as a precious bounty of nature since antiquity. It is used as an abirritative and soothing skin oil, for pharmaceutical mixtures and as cooking oil, due to its heat tolerance.It is obtained from the shelled seeds of the almond tree - native to the Mediterranean (particularly Spain) and the USA (mainly California). The oil is produced from the sweet almonds as they do not contain the bitter and poisonous flavour.
The colour of almond oil is yellowish (refined = pale yellow, cold pressed = dark yellow). It is a greasy, thin liquid with a mild taste and a characteristic scent.
