Hay flowers are the blossoms and grasses naturally found on meadows. Laboratory tests have shown that a handful of hay flowers contains 50 different kinds of flowers. This variety of species leads to a variety of natural active agents that nurture the body.Hay flowers are an old household remedy which were originally used by Pastor Kneipp. They are used for treating rheumatic diseases, sciatica, sore or tense muscles, joint troubles or colics. Furthermore, they encourage metabolism and have a calming and purging effect. Hay flower applications are therefore regarded as a true remedy for well-being, relaxation and health.
Hay flowers emit their manifold active agents and essential oils through warmth. They are then absorbed through the skin and breathed in and therefore doubly effective.

Application:Hay flowers can be brewed in order to be used as a bath additive or a compress.
Bath additive: Pour one litre of cold water onto 100 g Hay Flowers and boil. Leave to draw for about 30 minutes. Strain and add to bath water. The ideal bathing temperature is 35 - 38° C and bathing duration should be 10 - 15 minutes. The full relaxing effect of the bath can be experienced if you include a rest period under a warm cover of about an hour after your bath.
Hay flower compress: Prepare the Hay flower brew as mentioned above and soak a sheet or dish towel with it. Place this compress on the aching area and cover it with a towel or warm blanket. Ideal duration of exposure: Approx. one hour.
