Compared to the oily lubricants, which are often used for vaginal examination, Gyn-Lys is a waterbased lubricant with nourishing gylcerine which does not falsify cytological smears.Gyn-Lys makes examining easy and allows perfect ultrasound images. Gyn-Lys is non-drip and water soluble, it can be easily and smoothly spread and is pleasant for physician and patient. It does not contain chemical preservatives, therefore burning or itching after the examination is avoided. Its pH-value of 3.7 - 4.1 perfectly matches the vagina's pH-level.
The examination is performed as usual without the risk of damaging the cells of the obtained smear - as Gyn-Lys is water-based and, compared to standard oily lubricants, does not falsify cytological smears.
