Chlamydia Slide

Chlamydia are very small, round bacteria (the contagious form measures only 0.3 μm) which can multiply in other cells. Chlamydia cause a very common sexually transmitted disease.

A smear is taken from the urethra or the cervix with the medex Multi. The collected cells are transferred directly to the glass slide where the chlamydia, if present, are marked with fluorescent antibodies. This is then checked microscopically.

The glass slides are made from soda-lime glass. Thorough automatic cleaning makes the surface of the glass slides ready for use and easy to wet. The Glass Slides should be stored in a dry place at room temperature. If cooled down condensate can form between the Glass Slides and make them stick together. Before opening the box and using the Glass Slides we recommend storage at room temperature. In order to avoid hydrophobicity the Glass Slides should not be stored with solvents.

Further Information

The Glass Slides have rounded edges and a double-sided frosted end. Double-sided frosting allows for more marking surface and saves the trouble of searching the side which can be written on. White glass, rounded edges, double-sided frosting.

Size: 75 x 25 mm.
Thickness: 1 mm.

According to style - one or two reaction fields (Diameter: 8 mm).
